F.A.C.T. Flash Fiction Contest

F.A.C.T.’s Flash Fiction Contest is here again!

All ArmadilloCon Writers’ Workshop students from 2017-2025 are eligible to enter. If you have friends interested in participating in the Flash Fiction Contest and this year’s ArmadilloCon Writers’ Workshop, ask them to register for this year’s workshop at the ArmadilloCon website.

There’s a 1,000-word count limit in any genre of speculative fiction (Sci-Fi/ Fantasy/ horror/ slipstream/etc.). See the 2026 F.A.C.T. Flash Fiction Contest Guidelines for details.

Submissions Are Open Through JUNE 15

The submission portal will close on Monday, June 15, 2026, midnight CST (Austin time).

Join Us for a Social Event on Friday June 26

Contestants are invited to join fellow writers and F.A.C.T. and ArmadilloCon volunteers and fans at a social on Friday, June 26, 7 PM, at Cosmic Coffee + Beer.

Celebrate Winners Online on Mon June 29

Contest winners will be announced, and a reading of winning entries will take place on Monday, June 29, 7pm in an online celebration.
