F.A.C.T. Flash Fiction Contest

It’s that time of year again! ArmadilloCon’s Flash Fiction Contest is officially rebranded as the 2025 F.A.C.T. Flash Fiction Contest (F.A.C.T. being the group that brings you ArmadilloCon and the ArmadilloCon Writers’ Workshop).

All ArmadilloCon Writers’ Workshop students from 2017-2025 are eligible to enter. If you have friends interested in participating in the Flash Fiction Contest and this year’s ArmadilloCon Writers’ Workshop, ask them to register at the ArmadilloCon website.

There’s a 1,000-word count limit in any genre of speculative fiction (Sci-Fi/Fantasy/horror/slipstream/etc.). See the F.A.C.T. Flash Fiction Contest Guidelines for details.

Submit Entries at this Page during the Submission Period

The submission portal will open on March 16, 2025, and close on close on March 31, 2025, midnight CST (Austin time). Please err on the side of submitting too early. You may resubmit until the deadline; the last piece you submit will be considered your submission for the contest.

Join us for a Social Event on Sun Apr 5

Contestants are invited to join fellow writers and F.A.C.T. and ArmadilloCon volunteers and fans at a social on Sunday, April 5. Details TBD.

Celebrate Winners Online on Sat April 26

Contest winners will be announced, and a reading of winning entries will take place on Saturday, April 26, 7pm via Zoom.
